The series will peel back the curtain on both the personal and political lives of First Ladies throughout American history. Season one will reportedly focus on Eleanor Roosevelt, Betty Ford, and Michelle Obama.

Lionsgate Television is helming the project alongside Showtime.

Michelle Obama has been portrayed on film in the past, but Davis’ portrayal will be the first-ever on television. Obama was played by Tika Sumpter in the 2016 picture “Southside With You.”
