Miguel May Face Legal Action Over Billboard Collision

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

Miguel could be facing legal action following the flying leap he took at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards that found him crash landing on Khyati Shah, a fan in the pit at the performance. Since the Billboard broadcast it seems that Shah has sought legal representation and medical treatment for the incident that left her with an ice pack on her arm during a post-show interview, flanked by a very gracious and apologetic Miguel. Reports suggest that Khyati was star struck and still in shock from the impact of Miguel's fall at the time of her post-show interview, where she displayed a demeanor pleasant enough to suggest she might not have been in any serious pain. Footage of their collision could indicate otherwise. Shah has reportedly been experiencing difficulties since the event, possibly as a result of injuries she could have sustained at the time of his unexpected landing. Shah's attorney Vip Bhola has reportedly postponed any decision on whether to file suit until her medical results are available. Detailing the decision making process Bhola recently told E! News, "We will determine that after we have feedback from medical providers." Though Bola indicated the possibility of legal action, he did not offer a timeline for the filing any potential suit against the singer. The story was originally reported by Billboard yesterday, before being taken down. Miguel has yet to offer comment on the latest developments.
