As the music world collectively mourns the loss of Mac Miller, the late rapper’s dearest friends and collaborators have taken their time to address his death.

Schoolboy Q took a moment during a recent appearance at Chicago’s House of Vans to speak on how he was processing the passing of a beloved fellow rap misfit. In the video above, Q fights hard to restrain the gloom, noting that “With my nigga gone right now, I just don’t feel right putting out an album.” He goes on to express his discomfort in performing: “I shouldn’t even be here right now. But like I said, my nigga Mac would not want me in the house sad. He would clown me for some weird shit.”

Prior to Miller’s death, both Q and TDE executive, Anthony Tiffith, revealed that the follow-up to 2016’s critically-adored Blank Face LP was in its final stages. He joins the chorus of hip-hop heavyweights openly grieving over Miller’s passing, including J. Cole, Vince Staples, and labelmate, Kendrick Lamar, amongst countless others.
