Two years ago came news that a vinyl pressing Prince's highly sought-after The Black Album had sold for $15,000, making it the most expensive Discogs sale ever (prior to Prince the honor was held by David Bowie). Now, the Purple One has bested himself with the same album, with another vinyl pressing of it selling for $20,000.

As Rolling Stone reports, former Warner Bros. Executive Vice President Jeff Gold ended up getting his hands on several vinyl copies of The Black Album, when a former Warner Bros. colleague contacted him about the value of the album. The colleague revealed he had stumbled across the vinyl while looking through some boxes to send records to his daughter.

Gold has since sold three of the albums on his website, with two selling for $15,000 and one $20,000.

"I sold the first one with a single phone call to a client," Gold said. He said he plans on keeping one as well as selling another at auction next year.

Recently, a judge ruled in favor of a documentary about Prince's life from the artist's estate.

The deal for the documentary is expected to bring the late pop star's estate an eight-figure sum, according to a report from Billboard. The future film project was supported by Troy Carter, Spotify’s global head of creator services and an advisor to the estate’s personal representative, Comerica Bank & Trust. Comerica Bank & Trust won approval of the film deal despite receiving opposition from L. Londell McMillan, the estate’s former advisor as well as Comerica Bank & Trust’s business advisor.
