A new Prince album is coming this year

Last week, the Prince estate released the original recording of “Nothing Compares 2 U,” a song  Sinéad O’Connor would famously turn into a number one hit.

Well expect more new Prince music soon.

Variety is reporting that the Prince Estate is releasing a new album of unreleased music from the legendary artist. The album is set to be released on September 28.

Atom Factory is the company that is overseeing Prince’s estate. Atom Factory CEO, Troy Carter, gave an interview to Variety were he gave some details about the album.  When asked if the album will contain music from a specific time or if it will be a compilation of music throughout the years, Carter said:

This will be more time-specific. Michael Howe, who’s been working with us on the archive, has done a tremendous job of finding some special pieces of work, and one of the pieces that he found, all of us fell in love with it and decided this was special enough for fans to hear. So we’re putting the final touches on it — it’ll come in the fall.
