Murs & 9th Wonder Announce Final Collabo Album, Release First Two Singles
Murs and 9th Wonder are out to do it again.
March was the 15-year anniversary of one the greatest underground rap albums of all time: Murs and 9th Wonder’s Murs 3:16: The 9th Edition. Since that album dropped, the two have released five more collaborative projects together.
It turns out they have one more in them. Murs and 9th Wonder have announced that they are releasing one final album together. The album will be called The Iliad Is Dead And The Odyssey Is Over and it will release on July 19th, Via Empire Records.
Murs and 9th Wonder also dropped the first two songs from the album. The tracks, which premiered on Ambrosia For Heads, are “Night Shift” — which was produced by Kash — and “Ga$ Station Gucci Belt,” which was produced by 9th.
Speaking about the upcoming album, Murs told Ambrosia:
I wanted to give it my all, so my wife was kind enough to hold down the fort for a few weeks while I immersed myself in the recording process. 18 hours a day listening to beats and trying to craft the best material possible. The Iliad Is Dead And The Odyssey Is Over is the result. We definitely didn’t rush; as evidenced by the 41-city tour I just completed promoting an album that still isn’t out. I am tremendously proud of our work and I’m looking forward to sharing it with the world. As I begin the next chapter in this epic saga I am blessed to call my career The Iliad Is Dead And The Odyssey Is Over. When 9th first said that was the title. I was like nah; but now I think it’s a perfect fit for this moment in time.
