Madlib Announces Quarterly Vinyl Subscription Service
Invazion will feature hand-picked selections from the producer’s massive catalog of releases.
Madlib has unveiled plans to launch a quarterly vinyl subscription service. The living enigma delivered the Invazion announcement earlier this week in a rare Twitter transmission (see below,) promising a litany of “beat records, jazz, records, rap records, mixes” from his expansive vault.
No launch date has been mentioned yet, but it’s a helluva start to the new year. Last week, a teaser surfaced for what many speculate is the long-awaited sequel to Piñata, his 2014 joint album with Freddie Gibbs (who doubled-down with a re-post that declared “Zebra mode activated.”) There’s no official date on that either, but it’s been six months since Gibbs noted the project had reached completion. So it could be any day now.
Hold tight for updates on Madlib’s Invazion service in the weeks ahead.
Madlib Invazion quarterly subscription coming soon. Beat records, jazz records, rap records, mixes – you know, the things I do.
