Maybe we will hear Eternal Atake after all.

Lil Uzi Vert is back in the studio, thanks to Roc Nation. Uzi posted an Instagram Story previewing a verse of his, tagging JAY-Z‘ label above an emoji-punctuated call to “Free Uzi.” The label now solely manages the rapper, according to Complex.

The move suggests that Uzi is working to officially cut ties with his record label Generation Now, where co-founders DJ Drama and Don Cannon have supposedly made moves to stall the rapper’s releases. Back in January, Uzi took to Instagram Stories to thanks his fans and announce his retirement, saying “I’m done with music, I deleted everything. I wanna be normal.” This announcement brought the rollout of Eternal Atake, his long-awaited follow up to 2017’s Love Is Rage 2, to a halt. The album was supposed to arrive sometime in 2019.

Roc Nation’s assistance in getting the Lil Uzi Vert back in the studio could be the first steps in getting the Eternal Atake ball rolling again.
