Cudi's track is an ideal listen during this strange period of time we're all coping with.

Kid Cudi returns and unleashes his new single “Leader of the Delinquents.” Last week he teased the track on his Instagram Live.

This marks his first release since he dropped Kids See Ghosts, his collaborative album with Kanye West back in 2018. Cudi’s last solo release was Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin which arrived in 2016. “Leader of the Delinquents” was produced by Dot da Genius and Arkateqq.

If you’re a diehard Cudder fan, you’ve probably heard about his next full-length release already, Entergalactic. In a tweet last year, he shared the following on the album, “Entergalactic will be something you’ve never experienced. I promise it’ll be a fun ride. Lot of good friends involved. Great songs too!”

Last July, Complex reported the album would be accompanied by a Netflix animated series executive produced by Kid Cudi, Kenya Barris and Ian Edelman. The Grammy Award-winning artist and actor is set to star, write and spearhead the soundtrack for the series.

While there’s a bit of humming in his new track (that was expected), we can’t help but notice how the single reverts back to Cudi’s style that made him who he is today. We're hearing hints of his past songs "Marijuana," "Mojo So Dope," and even "Balmain Jeans." Many of his millennials fans (like myself) listened to him extensively in college. Honestly, we all grew up with him as he powered through dark phases, coped with death and more. In his latest song, he touches on his journey and floats as he details why he’s the “Leader of the Delinquents.”

The new song offers a chance for his fans to see exactly what he’s been up to for the past two years (somewhat of a hiatus). At the moment, there’s no official release date for Entergalatic.
