G.O.O.D. Year? Kanye West Wants to Make 52 Records in 52 Weeks
Expect more Kanye music
Kanye West is very ambitious. The rapper/producer has just finished releasing five consecutive seven-track albums he executive produced. And despite the fact that they ranged in quality — Pusha-T’s Daytona is very good; Nas’ Nasir, not so much — the rapper wants to release more music.
NY Times Pop Music Critic Jon Caramanica just wrote a long profile centered around Kanye West and his GOOD Music rollout. Following the release of that article, Caramanica also recorded a NYTimes Popcast Podcast about his time in Wyoming. During the podcast, Caramanica revealed something interesting that didn’t make the article.
“[Kanye] told me at one point he wants to make 52 records in 52 weeks…Take that for what you will.”
That is a very daunting task. However, Kanye has a lot of talent to work with, from CyHi the Prynce to Big Sean to Francis and the Lights.
However, maybe Kanye should finish Teyana Taylor’s album first.
Listen to the Popcast episode below. The Kanye comments come at the 48:30 mark.
