Freddie Gibbs Drops ‘$oul $old $eparately’ Album, Feat. Kelly Price, Anderson .Paak, & More

Freddie Gibbs has dropped his fifth studio album $oul $old $eparately, which guest appearances from Pusha T, Rick Ross, Scarface and more.

Freddie Gibbs is back with his major label debut. On Friday (September 30), the rapper dropped his fifth studio album $oul $old $eparately, four months after his Space Rabbit Tour ended during the summer. Supporting acts on the tour included redveil, MIKE and Zack Fox.

Tying in with the release of $$$, Gibbs surprised fans with the “Space Rabbit” music video at midnight. The album follows his 2020 collaborative album with The Alchemist, which was nominated for Best Rap Album at The Grammys in 2021. With casino imagery, Gibbs said in a statement that $$$ showcases his “refusal to compromise his morals or integrity under the pressures of the industry.”

Guest appearances on $$$ include Offset (“Pain & Strife”), Moneybagg Yo (“Too Much”), Rick Ross (“Lobster Omelette”), Anderson .Paak and Raekwon (“Feel No Pain”), DJ Paul (“PYS”), Pusha T (“Gold Rings”) and more. Although Jeezy doesn’t appear on the album, Gibbs name-dropped him on “Rabbit Vision,” praising The Recession 2 rapper for giving him wisdom despite their longtime feud.

As $$$ marks Gibbs’ first major label album, the rapper has his sights on Hollywood. Earlier this year, Gibbs appeared on Peacock comedy series Bust Down, and in March, he spoke to Vulture on taking the leap into acting.

“At the end of the day, man, I’ve gotten to look back and see a lot of great guys make the transition from rap into film,” he said. “I’ve seen that the ones who take it seriously and have the most success are guys like Ice Cube and Common — guys in the game that you really have to give that credit to. I just study all of those guys, man. I try to be more involved in the production and writing and all of that stuff. I see what 50 Cent does, and I admire that. I kind of want to go in that direction.”
