The podcaster says he’s ready for the two superstars to go beyond subliminal disses and fully engage.

Joe Budden wants Drake to fully go at JAY-Z. During a recent episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, the ongoing subliminal “tug-of-war” was being discussed when Budden mentioned wanting to see the two superstars go at each other directly – as opposed to ongoing sub-dissing.

“Hey, Drake … Bait him, let’s have some fun,” Budden said. “If the word is true, and hip-hop n—as gonna assume it’s true, that Jay-Z could be putting an album out, what that means in rapper brain is, he is available to rap. That means that his brain is firing, in a way, right this second that I’m prepared for anything that n—as might want to do.”

Joe mentioned that, if Drake and JAY-Z were to get into a full-on lyrical war of words, it could redeem Drake’s reputation as a writer. It’s something Drake referred to when he issued a warning to his rap rivals that his "pen isn't dry" during a livestream on Kick recently.

“If you want to get to talking tough about ‘the pen isn’t dry,’ take the bait,” Budden continued. “Jump out there. Set it on that old n—a. Fire on that old n—a, yo. Fire on that senior citizen. Nah, f— it, Kendrick [Lamar] and Drake was years ago, Now we need to turn it up a little more. Get him out that cubbyhole. Enough of that, ‘Wrong chart, champ.’ Who the f— do he think he talkin’ to, Aubrey?”

In recent months, there have been numerous digs between Drake and JAY. Drizzy dissed JAY on Iceman, and Hov responded during his “Roots Picnic Freestyle.”
