Former No Limit Star Young Bleed Dies at 51

The “How Ya Do Dat” rapper suffered a brain aneurysm following the Cash Money/No Limit Verzuz performance.

Young Bleed has passed away following complications from a brain aneurysm. The former No Limit star died on Nov. 1 at 51 years old, according to his son, Ty'Gee Ramon Clifton, who announced the news on Instagram. Born Glenn Clifton Jr., Young Bleed was hospitalized days after performing at the Cash Money Verzuz No Limit event at ComplexCon in Las Vegas.

Born and raised in Baton Rouge, La., Young Bleed rose to fame in the mid-1990s first as part of the group Concentration Camp, and then later as one of the early stars on Master P’s No Limit Records label. One of his breakout moments for the label was on the hit single “How Ya Do Dat.” The track, which was featured on the I’m Bout It soundtrack, was a remix of Bleed’s earlier version with his Concentration Camp groupmate C-Loc.. Young Bleed would sign with Priority Records and release his debut album, My Balls and My Word, on No Limit in 1998. 

TMZ reported that Tameka Long (also known as Madamm Meek), the mother of his 10-year-old son, said that he had high blood pressure and a heart condition, and had been in the ICU and on a ventilator after complications from a brain aneurysm that included internal bleeding. His mother set up a GoFundMe to assist with what she referred to as unexpected medical costs.
