Former R. Kelly Manager Convicted Of Stalking One of the Singer’s Victims

Former R. Kelly manager, Donnell Russell plead guilty on Tuesday for stalking one of the victims of the disgraced R&B singer.

R. Kelly isn’t the only one from his camp facing prison time. On Tuesday, the singer’s former manager Donnell Russell, plead guilty to stalking one of Kelly’s victims.

According to U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of New York, Russell used phone and internet communication to stalk and harass a victim of Kelly’s – known as ‘Jane Doe’ in the lawsuit – after she and her mother filed a civil lawsuit against the singer. Between November 2018 and February 2020, Russell then threatened to reveal both sexual images and the sexual history as an attempt for her to comply with dropping the lawsuit, one text message from Russell reading, “Pull the plug or you will be exposed.”

“Through the use of intimidation tactics, Russell repeatedly and purposefully worked to silence ‘Jane Doe’ from revealing the emotional and physical trauma inflicted on her by R. Kelly and his associates. Despite multiple threats, Russell ultimately failed in his efforts and will now face the consequences of his despicable behavior,” said HSI Acting Special Agent-in-Charge Patel.

A self-proclaimed manager, adviser and friend of Kelly, Russell did show the sexually-revealing videos on Facebook and in livestream videos, and as a result of his conviction, Russell’s stalking charge carries a prison sentencing of five years maximum. Last week, Russell was also found guilty of threatening gunfire at the 2018 Chicago screening of Lifetime special Surviving R. Kelly. According to AP News, sentencing for the case is set for November 21.
