Report: Jordan Peele is Eying Lakeith Stanfield to Star in ‘Candyman’ Remake

Get Out and Atlanta star Lakeith Stanfield is in talks to star in Jordan Peele'sCandyman remake, according to a new report fromSuper Bro Movies.
Stanfield reportedly has an offer to play the main protagonist in the movie. What's interesting is that Stanfield won't be playing the iconic titular character (the role that was originally played by Tony Todd.)

Stanfield would be playing a man named Anthony who is researching Candyman. That's when strange murders around Anthony start to occur. The role sounds similar to Helen Lyle's character (originally played by Virginia Madsen).
So the question remains...who is going to be playing Candyman?
The movie is set to be directed by Nia DaCosta, who made her debut with Little Woods last year. The script is being written by Peele and Win Rosenfield. The movie has a release date set for June 2020.
