The former producer, DJ and longtime Rakim collaborator is portraying a character named Detective Mike Gee. Gee is an old friend of main character Danny Reagan (played by Donnie Wahlberg). Eric made his debut as Gee during the episode "Another Look," which premiered last Friday (October 18).

"Being on set is surreal," Eric said in a press statement via HipHopDX. "I swear they treat Tom Selleck like the real Police Commissioner. What an honor to be alongside such a legend. Magnum P.I. Wow. I can't thank Donnie Wahlberg enough for this opportunity, really grateful. Being on The Goldbergs last year really wet my appetite for acting and I'm grateful to Adam F. Goldberg and Louis 'Uncle Louie' Gregory for that. I’m on a mission now."

Last year, Eric portrayed a club manager during an episode of the ABC sitcom The Goldbergs.

Last year, Eric and Rakim named their top five hip-hop songs of all time while speaking with Mass Appeal during an event celebrating hip-hop's 45th birthday.

Eric. B kicked the list off and named Sugar Hill Gang’s “Rapper’s Delight,” with Rakim taking care of the next three: Grandmaster Flash and the Furious 5’s “The Message,” T La Rock’s “It’s Yours” and JAY-Z’s “Hard Knock Life.”

However, making the fifth pick almost leaves the pair stumped.

“There’s so many,” he said. “Nas, Jay like you said, LL, Run-DMC.”

Then, Rakim comes in with the final choice: M.O.P.’s “Ante Up.”

“The illest record ever,” the rapper said. “The Illest s**t ever.”
