Nearing two years since the release of his last album, MartyrLoserKing, Saul Williams has announced a new project via Kickstarter.
Written and directed by Williams with support from Kara Walker and Hamilton’s Lin-Manuel Miranda, Neptune Frost will serve as an extension of the dystopian hacktivism of his MartyrLoserKing character from the previous release. Along with a trailer for the film, Williams has shared the searing spoken-word single, “The Flaw You Worship,” dissecting black cinema tropes and the new wave of creators in what was once, and can still be, a lonely lane.
