The Roots live at San Francisco's Regency Ballroom, Monday May 28th

Young America! Grammy-winners, musical bosses (and our actual bosses) The Roots, have officially signed on as the headliner for a little thing called StartUp RockOn at the Democratic National Convention taking place in Charlotte, North Carolina the week of September 3rd, 2012.

Startup America is a growing national coalition dedicated to providing startups access to the corporations, investors, and services they need to grow. Launched at the White House in early 2011, the partnership brings together startups and local champions from around the country focused on creating successful networks for young, high-growth companies to thrive. StartUp RockOn is a series of events highlighting the importance of America’s start-up community to the future of the nation.

As StartUp America CEO Scott Case puts it:

“As the RNC and DNC capture the attention of the country, it’s imperative to highlight the importance of startups to our national economy, and we’re incredibly excited to partner with EventFarm, HyperVocal and Fighter Interactive- three hard-working startups themselves- to do just that.”

As Roots extended fam Jimmy Fallon put it:

“Ladies & gentleman, the Preezy of the United Steezy.

Seriously, you have to come to the DNC to find out who will officially clinch the Democratic nomination but I got it from a beltway insider that they already have a candidate and he sings a mean Al Green.
