mc melodee and cookin soul mixtape cover for check out melodee

Just like her homeboy Chuck Inglish, Amsterdam’s dutch mistress MC Melodee is taking that “bringin’ 88 back”-ish seriously. Her brand new, DJ Whoo Kid-hosted mixtape, Check Out Melodee, doesn’t only allude to Eric B. & Rakim in name, but also takes it back in sound to the golden days of cowbells, 808s and scratch samples. Spanish production duo Cookin Soul handles most of the production, but Chuck also drops a beat or two, and even Oh No comes through on the 1s and 2s. Mac Miller, Smiff-n-Wessun and Chuuwee provide some extra 16s. Make sure you grab the mixtape below and don’t miss out on Melodee’s “Gotta Get Away” video, which we premiered earlier this month, and on our First Look feature on the talented femcee.

Behtash…really? I mean you may not think it’s 5 out of 5 but to call it terrible music? If nothing else the beats are on point! Besides MC Melodee can rap. I don’t understand. Oh! Well we’re entitled to our opinions. I like it!
