Busdriver Get Relentless On New Single "Cascading Green Digits"

Five minutes of 21st Century aggression is what awaits on Busdriver's latest single, a wild electronic hip-hop number entitled "Cascading Green Digits." Featuring a venomously tough backing track produced by Driver himself along with fellow Los Angeles-dweller Taurus Scott, the new single sits somewhere between exhilarating and exhausting--it never lets up, not even for a single beat. It's true to the spirit of his excellent 2014 release Perfect Hair in that it features the MC shifting between multiple vocal styles and demanding his listeners scramble to keep up with his lyrical concepts. Busdriver isn't here to f**k around; he's here to disturb those privileged enough to feel comfortable.

Under his government name, Regan Farquhar, the MC recently penned a contentious op-ed in the pages of Pitchfork, positing the idea that, perhaps, black artists should go on strike and abstain from a system so dead-set against them. "Here we were being sold anew on the idea that the recent public outcries, triggered by severe police brutality, are in fact a byproduct of the tainted moral core of black people," Farquhar wrote in his lengthy essay, pushing back in incendiary language against those who would rather go with the flow. "Cascading Green Digits" carries that same sense of revolt. Listen below and stay tuned for much more from Busdriver.
