Wu-Tang Clan, Queen Latifah, Luther Vandross Among 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductees

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has announced its 2026 inductee class — and it’s a particularly noteworthy class of legendary artists and producers. Ryan Seacrest and Lionel Richie revealed the inductees on the latest episode of American Idol, and the class includes hip-hop acts Wu-Tang Clan, Queen Latifah and MC Lyte, as well as R&B icons Luther Vandross and Sade and global music stars Fela Kuti and Celia Cruz.
Pop/rock superstar Phil Collins, MTV fixture Billy Idol, heavy metal icons Iron Maiden, Britpop band Oasis and art rock/postpunk mainstays New Order/Joy Division are being inducted. Legendary producers Rick Rubin and Linda Creed are also among this year’s inductees.
“Induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is music’s highest honor,” John Sykes, chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, said in a statement. “We look forward to celebrating these remarkable artists at this year’s ceremony — it’s going to be an unforgettable night.”
Among this year’s bigger snubs are Mariah Carey, who missed out on induction despite getting her third nomination, and first-time nominee New Edition, who won the online fan vote but still did not make the final cut. Lauryn Hill, Pink, The Black Crowes, Jeff Buckley, Melissa Etheridge and INXS were all also nominated but didn’t get inducted this year.
Artists reach Rock Hall eligibility when their debut recording turns 25 years old. Collins, Vandross and Wu-Tang Clan all got into the hall on their first nominations. Collins is now a two-time inductee, having been inducted with Genesis back in 2010.
The 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction will tape on Saturday, November 14th at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California. The 2026 ceremony will then debut in December on ABC and Disney+.
