Election day, which falls on November 8th, is quickly approaching.  The country, excluding thousands of felons, will vote for who will replace President Barack Obama. Despite multiple candidates on the ballot, the United States' next head of state will undoubtedly be one of two people from the entrenched two-party ruling system. The choices: Hillary Clinton or a misogynistic, xenophobic, oversized oompa loompa with extremely small hands and a very expensive toupee who wants to "Make America Great Again." A rallying cry that perhaps refers to segregation, though it still exists, Jim Crow, which also arguably still exists, or a plethora of other institutional methods by which racism and white supremacy were perpetrated, though many of them are still snuggly in place. The folks at Brand Maverick Entertainment and Artists Alliance for Justice have gathered a few celebrities to talk about the importance of voting and the specter of voter suppression in the heated presidential election. The video features a star studded line up that includes Cedric The Entertainer, Meagan Good, Russell Simmons, Tisha Campell-Martin, Chris Spencer, Logan Browning, Kendrick Sampson, Keisha Epps, Glynn Turman, Erica Campbell, DeVon Franklin and Dijon Talton. The short clip was produced by Steven Jones, directed by Ebony Haley, written by Kendrick Sampson and Steven Jones, and edited by Aarron Terrell. Watch the video via YouTube below.
