Janet Jackson graced the stage at the 2018 MTV European Music Awards in Bilbao.
The living legend performed a medley of her hits "Rhythm Nation," and "All For You," along with her latest single, "Made For Now" featuring Daddy Yankee before accepting the Global Icon Award.

The award show ran a video montage highlighting her career.
During her acceptance speech, Jackson spoke on women's empowerment, gender inequality, and her personal experiences of being silenced.
To be called in icon is a tremendous honor, but one that comes with a tremendous responsibility. Tonight, I feel moved to speak for women whose voices have been stifled.
Jackson said during her acceptance speech, adding, "I am one of those women — women who have been gaged, both literally and emotionally. Women who have been abused. Women who have been intimidated. Women who have lived in fear. I stand with you. You are my sisters.
