Kehlani shared her thoughts on the upcoming Super Bowl in February and Bad Bunny’s much-anticipated halftime show performance. During the Billboard 2025 No. 1s livestream on Tuesday, Dec. 9, where Super Bowl LX was brought up, Kehlani revealed that she’s hoping the Puerto Rican megastar doesn’t perform anything in English.

“He’s about to do the Super Bowl and probably not in English at all,” Kehlani said. “And that’s incredible. I don’t think he should say a single word in English at all.”

The NFL's choice to have him perform the halftime show has drawn criticism from conservatives and President Donald Trump. The NFL has defended the decision, saying Bad Bunny will not be replaced. This past September, Bad Bunny made headlines when he revealed that he didn’t include United States stops on his tour in part because of concerns about Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) presence at shows.

“But specifically, for a residency here in Puerto Rico, when we are an unincorporated territory of the U.S.,” he told i-D Magazine. “People from the U.S. could come here to see the show. Latinos and Puerto Ricans of the United States could also travel here, or to any part of the world. But there was the issue of — like, f***, ICE could be outside (my concert). And it’s something that we were talking about and very concerned about.”

Druski, who was hosting the livestream, mistakenly believed Kehlani was revealing firsthand knowledge about the upcoming performance, something she quickly shut down, sharing that this is just something she wants to see. She also spoke about his commitment to highlighting Puerto Rican culture overall.

“I think his commitment to uplifting his culture has been so serious,” Kehlani said. “Refusing to tour here, only touring in Puerto Rico to change the economy back home, was something super exemplary.”
