Poor LeBron

LeBron James played one of the greatest NBA Finals games of all time on Thursday, scoring 51 points, grabbing 8 rebounds and dishing out 8 assists.

It wasn't enough.

The Golden State Warriors beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 124-114 in overtime in game one of the NBA Finals. There were two plays that determined the game. And they both happened in the fourth game.

Down by one, Cavs point guard George Hill got fouled. Hill hit the first free throw, but missed the second one (mistake number one.)

However, all was not lost, yet. J.R. Smith got the rebound and had a clean look at the basketball. But instead of trying to hit the shot he dribbled out to the three-point line, apparently unaware that the Cavs were tied, not up by one. Lebron frantically tried to tell Smith. J.R. passed it off but it was too late. The buzzer rang. End of regulation came.

After the game, Cavs coach Tyrone Lue said that Smith didn't realize that the game was tied. However, Smith had a different story; he said he thought someone on his team would call timeout after he got the rebound:

Poor LeBron James had no explanation for it. When asked what Smith was thinking he said he didn't know, then proceeded to storm out:

The play was just one part of the story. What really matters is what happened online: Memes. Despite the fact that Kanye West was streaming his new album from Wyoming, #NBATwitter had one of the all-time great nights last night. The memes came quick and they came hard. And they were hilarious.
