Allen Iverson Doesn't Understand Why Kobe Bryant isn't in the G.O.A.T. Discussion
Is Kobe one of the G.O.A.T.s?
Who is the greatest NBA player of all time? While the consensus is still probably Michael Jordan, 15-year veteran LeBron James has been making a late-career push for that G.O.A.T. spot.
However, if you ask future hall-of-famer Allen Iverson, there is one name missing from this debate: Kobe Bryant.
Allen Iverson recently gave an interview to UNGUARDED. In a snippet that was released on the site’s Instagram page, AI was seen questioning why Kobe doesn’t get put in the same class as Michael Jordan and LeBron James.
LeBron is great, first of all…When they talk about comparing him to Mike, I don’t understand how they don’t have the debate when it comes to Kobe. I don’t get it. What, you forgot or something? I really think they forgot. I really think they forgot the Mamba, man. Certified serial killer, man.
Iverson has first-hand perspective on this; he’s played against all three guys at different points in his career. (In 2001, Allen Iverson led the Philadelphia 76ers to the NBA Finals against the Kobe and Shaquille O’Neal-led Los Angeles Lakers.)
