Tank and Tyrese are facing off in an R&B battle for the ages. The two superstar singers are set to meet up in the latest Verzuz on March 26. In a showcase billed as “For the Ladies,” the brand announced that the pair will take part in an event airing live from Los Angeles.

For his part, Tyrese immediately hopped on social media and began flexing his musical skills in several posts.

“I might not sing any of my obvious monsters,” he captioned one video. “I think I might try and lose on purpose…. I’m about to give the real Tyrese fans and supporters some B-Side classics that they always ask me to sing….. Poison [ you always want me to do this song live.😥 BEAUTIFUL PAIN Album is about to finally be on the main stage…. What other songs should I do from the BP album..??? Sound off in the comments….. I am really really about to do this for you the real ones….. Should I finally do WILDFLOWER?”

Tank got in some bragging rights of his own.

“Men and women lie… numbers don’t,” he wrote alongside a graphic of his chart successes. “This is just one bag! I have several other bags i might dip in to ensure i put him in the dirt!..😎 See you 3•26…R&B MONEY.”

During a 2022 appearance on NORE’s Drink Champs, Tank revealed that when he and Tyrese were both in the R&B supergroup TGT (alongside fellow star Ginuwine), the singers would “battle” with vocal runs to prove who was the stronger vocalist.

“It was a run for run… Tyrese will tell you we went run for run on an ‘EOL’-- ‘Elements of Life’--video shoot,” Tank recalled. “We went note for note and I said, ‘This is why I’m different.’ And he said, ‘Oooh,’ and that’s when he became my friend.”
