A Teddy Pendergrass Biopic is Coming, You'll never Guess Who is Set to Play the Legendary Singer

The movie is being executiveproduced by Teddy's widow Joan Pendergrass.

Following Warner Bros.'s acquisition of the life rights of Teddy Pendergrass, Tyrese Gibson has been cast in the lead role of an upcoming film about the late singer's life, according to Deadline.

Gibson took to Instagram to express gratitude for his latest opportunity in a multitude of posts. "This is a role that I feel I was born to play," he captioned one post. "Teddy Pendergrass embraced me and before [he] died he put the responsibility on my shoulders to tell his story."

Produced by Tyrese, Lee Daniels,and Donald De Line, the film will include a screenplay from Little Marvin (of Amazon's upcomingseries Them) and will be executive produced by Pendergrass' widow Joan Pendergrass.
