In response, The Glovers released 15 pages of a scathing test script that touched on its cancellation. But now, FX's CEO John Landgraf has revealed that it wasn't his network, but Marvel, that took the ax to The Glovers' pitch.

In a recent interview with Variety, Landgraf asserts: "They didn’t want to do the show that Donald and Stephen [Glover] wrote. We would have done show that Donald and Stephen wrote, but it wasn’t our decision." When asked if the project had any chance of being restored, Landgraf claimed: "I think that Marvel will revive it, because they have the rights. They own the IP and they have the rights to do an animated adult series based on any of the X-Men characters, and based on Deadpool specifically."
And while there doesn't appear to be any prospect of reconciling their differences with the comic book giant, Donald and Stephen's Atlanta was renewed for a third season on the network, eyeing a 2019 release. Stay tuned for updates on both projects as details make way.
