Showrunner Damon Lindelof Confirms That a 'Watchmen' Miniseries is Coming to HBO

In 2009, director Zack Snyder took on the strenuous task of adapting the legendary comic series Watchmen in to a film.

The results were mixed. The movie was not a box office hit and fans had a polarizing reaction to the film.

Just because Watchmen the movie wasn't an overwhelming success, doesn't mean that the property can't work on another format.

Back in June, Variety reported that Damon Lindelof, the man behind shows like Lost and The Leftovers, was trying to adapt Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons masterpiece into an HBO miniseries. However, fans then became confused when Lindelof announced that he "havent had any meetings with HBO about Watchmen."

Well it turns out he was being coy.

Earlier today Lindelof basically confirmed that he was working on a Watchmen miniseries. He posted a picture showing the statue that the character Nite Owleventually gets a hold of.

For his caption he wrote "Day one."

Judging by the table and the white board, this looks like it's a writing room. It's only day one, so we have a long way to go.

But this is very encouraging.
