FKA twigs, oddly enough, confirmed the live on-air tribute in a recent call-in to Zane Lowe's Beats 1 program on Apple Music, noting that she'd be joining the iconic percussionist and Usher (who previously blessed Roots Picnic with a stunning version of "Adore") for a star-studded hat-tip. None of which should be confused with The Grammys' other Prince tribute, which is slated to be taped next week (featuring appearances from Morris Day & The Time, The Revolution, Gary Clark Jr., Beck, St. Vincent, and more) with Sheila serving as music director for an era-spanning set. That performance will be aired at some point in April, according to Rolling Stone.
This year's tribute isn't the first (and can't be the last) from the Academy. In 2017, roughly eight months after his death, Bruno Mars hit the stage with The Time to put one up forthe late legend. But hell, the more the merrier.
