Rick Ross and French Montana are the next stars set to face off in a Verzuz battle. According to COMPLEX, Rozay and Montana will be going hit-for-hit during the next entry in the popular battle series, which is set to happen May 7 in Los Angeles. Billed as a battle of “Club Anthems,” this marks Ross’ second time appearing on Verzuz, as he competed against 2 Chainz back in August 2020 during the early months of the series.

Ross and Montana have collaborated several times on numerous hits over the years, with popular tracks like “Pop That,” “Marble Floors,” “Stay Schemin,” “Nobody” and, most recently, “Minks in Miami.”

Rozay recently talked about the state of music in 2026 and said that Africa is the sound of the moment and the continent’s spotlight is long overdue.

“I love it,” Ross said to CNN’s Lamide Akintobi in March about the global rise of Afrobeats. “For the ones that really understand live and real music, you understand. It’s been well overdue for a long time.”

Ross also revealed that he’s working on a collaborative project with African artists.

“So many African artists, producers, big ones, small ones… we’ve been collaborating on this project for over 12 months,” he explained. “Halfway through this year, get ready for it, we’re gonna do some real big things.”

Verzus is happening at the Apple Music Studios in Los Angeles, and streaming live on Apple Music starting at 9:30 p.m. EST, May 7.
