Pop Smoke's brother, Obasi Jackson, has announced plans to open a coffee shop dedicated to the late rapper. The shop is called Pop's Place and it’s in Canarsie, the Brooklyn neighborhood where Pop Smoke and his family lived and grew up. Jackson has also announced that he is looking for experienced baristas for the business.

In 2020, Pop Smoke was shot and killed in Los Angeles during a home-invasion robbery. He was just 20 years old. Corey Walker, the final defendant connected to the case, was sentenced to 29 years in prison last year.

While details like the full menu, official opening date, and permanent address have yet to be published, fans don’t have to wait very long for a preview.

Jackson is also having a pop-up Pop Smoke merch event in Brooklyn today. The event will act as a soft launch, giving visitors a chance to try food items and grab exclusive merchandise tied to the shop.

"We chose Tuesday with intention,” Jackson explained. “Pop was born on a Tuesday, so every time we come together like this, it means something. This is not just a pop up. This is how we keep his name alive."

Since Pop's passing, his estate has released two posthumous albums, the first of which reached double platinum sales numbers.
