The 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony looks to be one for the ages. The show takes place Saturday, Nov. 8, in Los Angeles at the Peacock Theater. And there’s some significant star power from the world of hip-hop and R&B taking part in the big show, from inductees to presenters and more.
OutKast is being inducted this year, which is a big deal for hip-hop fans in general and southern rap fans, in particular. Andre and Big Boi burst onto the scene in 1993 as two teenagers with lyrical skills and Organized Noize’s formidable production talents backing them. They put Atlanta on the hip-hop map and announced the Dungeon Family as a force. With artists like Sleepy Brown and Janelle Monae on-hand, it should be quite the party for the 2 Dope Boyz.
And Salt-N-Pepa is also being inducted. The divas who helped set the table for women in hip-hop came roaring out the gate in 1986 and scored some of the earliest platinum-selling successes for female rappers and scored a boatload of hits like “Push It,” “Get Up,” “Let’s Talk About Sex,” “Expression,” None Of Your Business,” “Shoop” and more. They join Missy Elliott as the only female hip-hop artists to be inducted.
Other announced artists that are expected to be on-hand for the festivities include Donald Glover, Missy Elliott, Doja Cat, Killer Mike, Questlove, En Vogue, Maxwell, Lisa Coleman, Hurby “Luv Bug” Azor, and JID.
