Offset was shot outside a Florida casino and is in stable condition, according to a spokesperson for the Atlanta rapper. “We can confirm Offset was shot and is currently at the hospital receiving medical care,” his rep said in a statement to Okayplayer. “He is stable and being closely monitored.”

According to the Associated Press, Lil Tjay, born Tione Jayden Merritt, was arrested over an altercation that occurred prior to the shooting. The Seminole Police Department in Florida said he was charged with disorderly conduct and operating a vehicle without a valid license.

The 24-year-old was pictured smiling in his mugshot after being arrested by the Broward County Sheriff”s Office, TMZ reported.

The attorney for Lil Tjay notes that he was not charged in the shooting.

“We are issuing this release in regards to false rumors that Lil Tjay was involved in a shooting… which [resulted] in non-life-threatening injuries to Offset, formerly a member of Migos,” Tjay’s attorney, Dawn M Florio, said in a statement on Instagram Monday morning. “Lil Tjay has not been shot, nor has Lil Tjay been charged with any shooting. Any reporting to the contrary is false. We encourage people to consult trusted news sources and to verify the accuracy of any reporting before reflexively sharing or repeating baseless rumors.”

The police said one person sustained injuries at a valet area outside the casino, but they have not identified the victim. The second person detained at the scene has not been charged and investigators were working to identify others involved.

The shooting comes more than 3 years after Offset’s former Migos bandmate Takeoff (born Kirshnik Khari Ball) was shot and killed in Houston. Lil TJay himself was shot in New Jersey, also back in 2022.
