Nicki Minaj Hurls Homophobic Slur at Don Lemon
The rapper directed inflammatory comments toward Don Lemon out of disproval for his coverage of Minneapolis protests following the shooting of Renee Good by an ICE agent.
Nicki Minaj and Don Lemon are sniping at each other in an escalating social media feud. Minaj blasted Lemon for a recent viral clip of the former CNN personality. Lemon had shared a video across social media of him interviewing protesters in Minneapolis prior to the protest interrupting a local church service, demanding justice for Renee Good, the woman who was shot and killed by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent earlier in January.
Protestors claimed one of the pastors at the church was leading the local ICE field office, but ICE would not confirm or deny to local news outlets.
After the video of Lemon went viral, Minaj exploded.
“DON ‘C*** SUCKIN’ LEMON IS DISGUSTING. HOW DARE YOU?” she wrote alongside a photo of the murderous Child’s Play doll Chucky on X (formerly Twitter). “I WANT THAT THUG IN JAIL!!!!! HE WOULD NEVER DO THAT TO ANY OTHER RELIGION. LOCK HIM UP!!!!!”

Lemon blasted Minaj in a subsequent interview with TMZ.
“This is clearly out of her depth. She doesn’t understand politics. She doesn’t understand journalism. And I’m not surprised that she is weighing in on something that is beyond her capacity,” Lemon said.
“I think she put the Chucky doll in [her post]. A better symbol that should have been represented in that picture is a ‘Pick Me’ doll because Nicki Minaj is a pick me. She will do anything that is expedient for her politically. And again, she’s ignorant. She doesn’t know what she’s talking about. She’s always weighing in on things that she doesn’t know about. Nicki Minaj should just sit the f**k down.”
Since her surprise appearance at a Turning Point USA rally in December, Minaj has drawn criticism for an abrupt turn towards right-wing politics. After reactions to her post about Lemon, she doubled down.
“LOL!!! And I purposely wrote it that way b/c I knew that would be the only way to get the c*** suckas to post about it,” she tweeted. “They would’ve all collectively ignored the despicable behavior displayed by Lemon head. I’m glad they’re angry. They’re about to get angrier.”
