Baltimore Teacher Uses "N" Word As She Berates Black Students

Video went viral today (Thursday) of a teacher calling her students "idiots" and "ni**ers" who will "get shot."

Shaun King, Senior Justice Writer for New York Daily News, shared a video on his Twitter account Thursday morning showing black students at Harlem Park School Elementary and Middle School in Baltimore, berated by a white teacher.

The one minute video shows the incident unravel, as the teacher grabs a student by his hood and yells at him to leave her classroom. She then turns to the rest of the class and screams, "Who else needs to freaking leave?"

"You are getting zeros for doing nothing" she says, as one student stands next to her with a computer. The teacher then continues to berate the students, calling them "idiots" and saying that they should get an education or they are going to be "punk ass ni**ers who's going to get shot."

In a report from The Baltimore Sun, The school district released the following statement in regards to the incident Thursday:

"Yesterday a middle school science teacher at Harlem Park Elementary/Middle School engaged in verbally abusive behavior and made racially charged comments directed at students. The teacher involved in the incident is no longer employed by City Schools. At Baltimore City Public Schools, we are committed to creating positive and equitable learning environments in school communities where all members are welcome, supported, and valued. No form of discriminatory behavior of any kind is or will be tolerated."

City Council President Bernard "Jack" Young tweeted about his disappointment in what he witnessed in the video.

"It turns my stomach to think about this woman in front of a classroom of impressionable young minds," Young said. "There's zero tolerance for adults who violate our young people. That video is proof that we have more work to do as a city and a country."

The identity of the teacher has not been revealed. The video can be viewed below.
