"What kind of father, what kind of mother, will sell their daughter to a man?"

CBS aired the first part of its explosive interview with R. Kelly on Wednesday morning (March 6th). During the interview, which took place in his house in the Trump Towers in Chicago, Kelly maintained his innocence, claiming that he has never slept with underage girls and that people were conspiring against him.

It's the first interview Kelly has given since he was charged with 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse last month.

One of the more interesting moments came when Kelly talked about his current relationship, with Joycelyn Savage, who is 21, and Azriel Clary, who is 23. Families of both women claim that Kelly is keeping them away and running a cult. Kelly denied that he is running a cult, saying:

I love ’em and it’s almost—it’s like they’re my girlfriends. It’s like, you know, we have a relationship. It’s real. And I know guys—like, I’ve known guys all my life that have five or six women, OK? So don’t go there on me, okay? ’Cause that’s the truth.

Kelly goes on to say that the parents of Savage and Clary essentially handed him their daughters. (Clary’s parents took their daughter to an R. Kelly concert when she was 17,  in hopes that she would get a deal.) When asked if Kelly had sex with the women when they were 17, Kelly said:

Absolutely not. Although, her parents wanted me to.

Gayle responded by saying that parents claim they have text messages proving Kelly had underage sex with the girls.

Kelly denied that too. He went on to point a finger at the parents:

What kind of father, what kind of mother, will sell their daughter to a man? How come it was okay for me to see them until they wasn't getting no money from me?

Famed lawyer Michael Avenatti is representing Clary's parents. He sent out a statement denying the claims from Kelly:
