Prince Charts The Freddie Gray Protests In A Moving Video For "Baltimore"

Over two months ago, Prince championed the city of Baltimore with an ode to the unrest taking place in its most impoverished neighborhoods in the wake of 25-year-old Freddie Gray's murder at the hands of six officers following his arrest. And while those officers have since been indicted on murder chargers, there's still much work to do in making sure that both Gray's legacy and the pride of a city that stood tall and strong in the face of police brutality remains intact. Today, The Purple One dropped a video for "Baltimore" chronicling the events that led up to the protests and his subsequent Rally 4 Peace that brought roughly 50,000 of the city's residence to Royal Farms Arena to shed their pain with some high-powered funk and a bevy of special appearances from Miguel, Estelle, State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby and a slew of others when the city needed it most. The video was (of course) dropped via featured vocalist Eryn Allen Kane's Youtube page to stay true to his absence from the net, but it is a moving documentary-styled approach to seeing Charm City through the watery, brokenhearted eyes of its residents. Watch the video for Prince's salute to "Baltimore" below and cop the single on iTunes today.
