OKP Premiere: Zara McFarlane - "Open Heart" (Diggs Duke Remix)
Zara McFarlane's gleaming lull "Open Heart" gets another impressive rework; this time via the eclectic styles of one Diggs Duke. What was once a quiet kalimba-graced slow groove gets swing-loaded and accented with heavy rhodes and a deep string arrangement with just a few chops of Zara's powerhouse vocal mixed in. The offering is just the latest rehash of Zara's sultry "Open Heart" off her stellar If You Knew Her LP --out now via Gilles Peterson's Brownswood Recordings imprint-- following up Swindle's treatment, which dawned on the online world just a month ago.
