Nigerian-American singer WurlD is ready to put his stamp on the summer with Okayafrica premiere "Show You Off," an 'afro soul' single with Major Lazer's Walshy Fire and upcoming producer Shizzi.

Read more about the track below:

The breezy track pairs some “Ojuelegba”-style melodies with a bouncing bass line and beat work that straddles both the Caribbean and African sides of the Atlantic.

Walshy Fire’s been at the forefront of this new hybrid of afrobeats and Caribbean sounds through collaborations with the likes of Wizkid & Runtown and his ‘Afro Soca’ parties. He’s currently working on finishing up an Afro-Caribbean EP called Global Citizen.

In “Show You Off” Walshy shares production duties with Nigerian beat maker Shizzi, the man behind “Skelewu”; “Dami Duro”; “Show You The Money” and many other massive Nigerian hits. Hear one of the first bonafide jams of the summer.

"Show You Off" flaunts the Afro-Caribbean, house-infused flavors that have crept their way into pop music this year. Alicia Keys took a stab at the sound on "In Common," the new Illangelo-produced single she debuted on SNL last month. Since those genres are such a large part of the culture in Toronto, Drake integrated them into Views for singles like the Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping "One Dance" and "Controlla"; and even though the album has received mixed reviews, those singles have been universally seen as highlights. Rihanna's new album, Anti, also garnered praise for its usage of soca and dancehall rhythms (not to be confused with 'tropical house'). If you plan on getting outside over the next few months, get used to it - this has taken over airwaves and parties as the new sound of the summer, and WurlD has a strong head start with Walshy Fire and Shizzi behind the boards for this infectious new single. Automatic song of the summer--in fact, we actually, factually included it in our Songs of Summer 2016 playlist!
