Kerry Lathan, who had just been released on parole after serving a 20-year sentence for murder, has been arrested again at the halfway house where he's currently at.
According to a report from TMZ, Lathan was taken back into custody five days after Hussle's death, with the LAPD saying he violated the terms of his release for associating with gang members upon his release. The police cited Hussle as the gang member Lathan was associating with. The late Los Angeles rapper and entrepreneur's affiliation with the Rolling 60s, a large Crips gang in southwest Los Angeles, is well-known, with Hussle having spoken publicly about his ties to the group.
Nipsey was reportedly only at his Marathon Clothing store the day he was fatally shot because he wanted to help Lathan with some new clothes before he returned home to see his family. Kerry and Kerry's nephew were hit alongside Hussle.
Lathan, who is in a wheelchair as a result of the shooting, is now in Men's Central Jail in downtown LA. Authorities may try to revoke his parole.
