After Get Out The Vote Show, Chance The Rapper + Huge Crowd March To Polls
Earlier today Chance The Rapper held a get out the vote concert in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois. The event was held atGrant Park, the same famed park at which President Barack Obama, a family friend of Chance's father, gave his famed 2008 acceptance speech. It is also the same parkat which protests against the Democratic National Convention and the war in Vietnam occurred in 1968. Back to the present, the concert saw performances fromTwin Peaks, Malcolm London,Taylor Bennett, who is Chance's younger brother, and others.
The show was sponsored by Chance's non-profit organization Social Works. After the show, Chance led hundreds, if not thousands of concert goers on a march to the polls to vote. The concert was, fittingly, titled "Parade to the Polls." The current presidentialelections, are seeing a record breakingsurge in early voting in comparison to past contests. Those that marched to the polls seemed to be in unanimous agreement that democratic presidential candidateHillary Clinton was the way to go. One marcher held a sign implicating Donald Trump in the horrific murder of Harambe, a 17-year-old Western lowland gorilla. Election day is today, Tuesday November 8th.Head here to find your polling place. Chance is also featured in a new campaign ad from Hillary Clinton. Watch footage of Chano From 79th and a score of others march through the streets of Chicago to polling places below.
