Yet another sentence has been passed down in the Tekashi 6ix9ine case. On Thursday, Jamel "Mel Murda" Jones received a sentence of 135 months in prison and five years of probation, according to Complex. In addition to the sentence, Jones has been ordered to pay $10,000 in forfeiture.
Jones entered a guilty plea after selling heroin to an undercover NYPD officer in mid-November. The transaction was filmed and he was arrested four days later. The racketeering charges stemmed from a wiretapped phone call between Mel and Jim Jones where the two discussed their plans to "violate" Tekashi after his appearance on The Breakfast Club.
Jones is the fourth associate sentenced in the trial. Tekashi 6ix9ine is currently awaiting sentencing, currently scheduled for December 18.
In related news, Jim Jones discussed the recent controversy regarding him and 6ix9ine with Angie Martinez. After being named by Tekashi during the testimony, a post spread on Instagram alleging that Jones was also cooperating with federal investigators. In a now-deleted post, 50 Cent reposted the screenshot adding, "so thats why they ain’t pull him in, say it ain’t so jimmy."
"You never know that you’re in the circus until you figure out you was looking at a clown," Jones said while speaking to Martinez. "When the clown gives out information, everybody laughs, you dig? But for the most part, everyone knows I'm a substantial individual — I've been doing this for a very long time."
