Rapsody delivers her highly anticipated project, plus the new album from FLO and Cam’ron’s latest – these are our pics for the month.

Summer is winding down, students are heading back to school–and there’s a dope slate of albums set to drop this August. Of course, the days are hotter than ever, but you don’t have to worry on the music front — there’s more than enough greatness dropping this month to keep you covered through Labor Day.

FLO drop their sophomore project, Therapy at the Club; and we’re also getting the latest from Ravyn Lanae early in the month. Cam’ron is dropping his new album, Frederica, this month, as is Trippie Redd — and fans are eagerly awaiting the new Rod Wave

Buzz has been building for the new Rapsody album all summer, and Tobe Nwigwe is dropping The Bridge. Eric Bellinger’s self-titled album is coming, and we get Doomed! from Open Mike Eagle & Kenny Segal.

But hey — why not just dive into the full list? These are the albums we’re excited for in August.

FLO - ‘Therapy At the Club’

Release Date: AUG.  7

It's a different kind of take on “love in this club.” The Grammy-nominated trio is set to release their highly anticipated sophomore album, a project that offers a unique take on the nightlife experience.

Ravyn Lenae - ‘Blue Island’

Release Date: AUG.  7

The follow-up to her 2024s Bird's Eye is executive produced by Dahi and it expands on contemporary R&B and pop with '80s synth-pop vibes, rock influences (Blondie, The Cranberries), and dramatic Bollywood chorus structures.

Trippie Redd - ‘NDA’

Release Date: AUG.  14

He already has 2026 momentum via his Young Thug collab "Paperbag Boy." On his first full-length solo studio project since 2023, Redd has said that the project leans into a mix of his classic nostalgic melodic emo-rap and heavier trap/rage beats.

Ayra Starr - ‘Starrgirl’

Release Date: AUG.  14

Her third studio album, Starrgirl, represents personal multiplicity and a cosmic galaxy of identities. The project follows her second album, The Year I Turned 21, and is 16 tracks; it features high-profile guest appearances from Wizkid and Rema.

Open Mike Eagle & Kenny Segal - ‘Doomed!’

Release Date: AUG.  14

Their first full collaborative album, releasing through Billy Woods's Backwoodz label, is a 15-track record that has been billed as a half-whimsical, absurdist break-up album. The project’s general conceit is detailing a five-year relationship falling apart.

Rapsody - ‘God Gotta Afro & Gold Hoops’

Release Date: AUG.  21

Inspired by a recent trip to Africa, the rapper out of Raleigh says she found the spark she needed to go in and create her upcoming album. Boosted by early singles, it looks to be her most ambitious, genre-bending project to date.

Cam’ron - ‘Frederica’

Release Date: AUG.  21

Killa is taking an interesting approach to his forthcoming project; he has said that the album is a deeply personal tribute to his late mother while also serving as a platform to spotlight rising new talent.

Eric Bellinger - ‘Eric Bellinger’

Release Date: AUG.  21

The Grammy-winning singer, songwriter and producer has described his upcoming self-titled album as getting back to the heart of R&B while also presenting an intentional body of work–with themes of self-discovery and healing.

Tobe Nwigwe - ‘The Bridge’

Release Date: AUG.  21

His ambitious upcoming album features 12 tracks co-produced with Tierce "Kizzo.” The title references his musical approach; as the album bridges Houston hip-hop with West African roots, featuring global collaborations across Houston, Lagos and London.

Rod Wave - ‘Don’t Look Down’

Release Date: AUG.  28

The 20-track project follows his 2024 album, Last Lap, and is led by tracks like "Feed the Streets" and "Piece of Your Love,” and it’s accompanied by the newly announced Don't Look Down North American tour starting in fall 2026.

Alabama Shakes - ‘I Must Be Dreaming’
