At this point you should all be more than familiar with the riotous feel-goods of Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars' smash "Uptown Funk" (mostly because it's damn near everywhere.) But these kinds of tunes don't just fall out of the sky. On Ronson's recent stop at studio 6b for his blazing Tonight Show performance with Mystikal and The Roots, he took the time discuss the pains and gains of putting the track together. As most do, the song began as a demo in Ronson's own studio, but was then taken to a session with Mr. Mars, where he took to the drums and laid the drums down, eventually also contributing the track's vocal bass line. The refinement process didn't stop there though, as the unfinished track was toured throughout different cites across the country and over the pond, with the final touches being put down just before the label threatened to can the project. You can watch Mark Ronson discuss the creation of "Uptown Funk" below and if you need a new take on the track that you just can't seem to escape, go ahead and run through the Ronson/Bronson remix that debuted earlier today on Hot 97.
