Lorde Drops New Track "Team"

Teenage songstress Lorde has done nothing short of taken over the web in the last  few months with a staggering list of trophies for a woman of her age. The New Zealand native's ambitious freshman release The Love Club EP was conceived as an album full of tracks that began as acappella demos when she was just 14. Its final mix is so drenched in the primordial pop goo that it literally oozes the stuff. And now she is making waves with the soaring arena drums and polished, layered harmonies of her new release "Team."

The singer, songwriter and producer was featured on our First Look Fridays last March, but was actually signed when she was 12! In just a few short months since, she has been remixed by The Weeknd, her contrarian single "Royals" is the first to top Billboard's alternative chart by a female artist in 17 years (before she was even born) and is the first artist to have not one, not two, not even three, but four singles on New Zealand's Top 40 Singles Chart. The insatiable swagger of this youngun' is something we simply haven't seen from an artist of her caliber in years (think Kanye meets Grimes.) With what seems to be a bottomless bag of tricks, expect Lorde to keep commanding the attention of the masses and make sure to keep an eye out for her first full length effort Pure Heroine to drop September 30th. Peep the single after the drop.
