Philly MC Khemist drops the official video for "The Rain" from the Lornda & Poems LP directed by CameraManReece for TwoThird Films. The footage follows the release of the project, which dropped in April. The video for the Stan Drinks produced single from the 11-track compilation - a memorial tribute to Khemist's grandmother Lornda Pack - was preceded by the emotionally dense standout "They Shooting." Reporting from the ground, Khemist delivers equally heavy subject matter in the footage which opens with an unexpectedly riveting verse from a gentleman visibly down on his luck but nowhere near devoid of bars or a bright disposition. This dose of Logan Valley rap is punctuated by a bittersweet soul sample and candid street shots that compliment his commentary on the most unforgiving vices and the nuanced ways in which the cycles of poverty and addiction affect everyday life. Check the footage below to watch the official video for "The Rain." Purchase the Lornda & Poems LP via Bandcamp. Stay tuned for more from Khemist.
