John Legend and Chrissy Teigen are outspoken when it comes to racial injustice,so it only makes sense that the couple would speak out after dealing with a racist paparazzo at the airport.

Teigen said that she and her husband were at JFK airport in New York City whena member of the paparazzi asked her, "if we evolved from monkeys, why is John Legend still around?"

"And people wonder why celebs lose it in pics," Teigen tweeted. "I was very kind. Answered cooking questions, then he came with that. Fucking disgusting."

The paparazzo continued with an anti-Semitic comment, asking, "if a Jew were a vampire, would he still be afraid of crosses?"

Legend spoke about the issue again this weekend, in an interview with Variety.

"We looked at each other like, Did he really just say that? And he really said it, Legend said. He basically called me a monkey. Black folks have had to deal with being called monkeys for a long time, and dehumanization has always been kind of a method of racism and subjugation of black people. Thats just part of American historyand its part of the present, apparently.

He pointed out that the Obamas were called apes during their time in The White House, and said that he wasn't hurt by the exchange.

Im not hurt by someone saying that to me because Im smarter, Im stronger," he said. "I look down on that person that would say something like that. But its a shame that it still exists.

Teigen still wants the perpetrator to be exposed.

"Guess we'll find him when he puts the video out," she said. "That he edits the shit out of since he didn't get clocked."
