Hear J Dilla & NaS Connect On The Electric New Cut "The Sickness" (prod. Madlib)
If you've been following the roll-out of J Dilla's soon-to-land The Diary, you already know just how special this particular piece is. Originally intended as his debut solo vocal album, The Diary finds the late Jay Dee in rare mic-clenching form, blazing bars over productions from fellow legends and disciples alike. Announced just after the 10th anniversary of Donuts in mid-February, the campaign began with a necessary and proper "Introduction," followed by the Snoop Dogg-assisted G-funk suite, "Gangsta Boogie." But in between those two drops, NaS, whose Mass Appeal Records will be releasing The Diary this Friday, ripped the veil off his own contribution to the record while down in Austin for Mass Appeal's SXSW showcase, revealing "The Sickness," albeit in fairly low fidelity.
Today, "The Sickness," which features a buzzing production from the one and only, Madlib, has been officially let loose and is available for you to screw up your face to down below. The album arrives April 15th, just in time for Record Store Day (more on that in just a bit) with pre-orders underway via iTunes and vinyl shipping out courtesy of Rappcats.
